What is the Sethian vision on emotions and how they should be dealth with?
I remember that they should'nt be repressed and left to fester but what exactly are we supposed to do with them the rest of the time?
Emotions, of course, cover a broad spectrum: love, rage, fear, happiness, sadness, anger...

Re: What is the deal with emotions?
Sat, February 17, 2007 - 11:18 AMWhat comes immediately to mind is this.
The Seth material tells us that in the end, after all is said and done with temporal reality, all our inner self is left with is an emotional impression of the life we just lived. The material also tells us that our inner self can review our life and recall the memories of any given life, however, we can never "re-live" that life. The material tells us that we can pretend to "re-live" that life. In this way, we can work out variations, after the fact, for any given life. But your live, as you know it now, is a one shot unique variation that can never be duplicated. You are unique.
I think this emotional quotient (yes, I like that term) is feedback to the iiner self. This is what Value Fullfullment is all about.
What about this analogy....
Your life is a pixel in a larger picture. In the end you are only one little dot of color. The emotional content of your entire life being summed as the hue. Yes, we can dig down into the pixel and examine it's RGB value. But it is the inner self that is composing the picture that you are only a pixel of. So your life is sad and the pixel is blue. But that may be just what the picture needs to be a great work of art. If your life were happy and yellow, the overall picture could be ruined. But our picture is also alive, because we are the inner self projected into the life we live. So there is an unseen connection between our ego based life and our non-temporal inner self. Realizing that you are your inner self gives meaning to the point-of-power. You can change the composition of that non-temporal picture by simply changing your attitude in this reality. Or, more appropriately, change your beliefs.

Re: What is the deal with emotions?
Tue, February 20, 2007 - 12:41 PMFrom “The Early Sessions:”
“The child must mature, and your system is a maturing ground, a very primary one…. A beginning school…”
“The human race is a stage though which various forms of consciousness travel. Before you can be allowed into systems of reality that are more extensive and open, you must first learn to handle energy and see, through physical materialization, the concrete result of thought and emotion.”
“In more advanced systems, thoughts, and emotions are automatically and immediately translated into action, into whatever approximation of matter there exists. Therefore, the lessons must be taught and learned well. The responsibility for creation must be clearly understood.”
